G-form Elbow pads: crash tested

You may remember that I featured the G-form Elbow pads a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned that I was going to write an update once I crash test the pads. Well, last race weekend was my unlucky weekend. Not only did I crash once, I crashed twice. I just had to make sure that my results were not a fluke. Well, not really, but you can read my race report on MtnBikeRiders.com here.

All I can say is that G-form elbow pads worked like a charm, there was no injury nor scrapes on my elbows and I was really surprised to see that the elbow pads held up very well. (My second crash was rather nasty).

Unfortunately my knee and chin didn’t fare well, so you bet that I will be placing an order for the G-form knee pads right away! Other than the love-it-or-hate it color, I really like these pads and highly recommend them.

Almost ready

The first SuperD race of the season is tomorrow morning at Southridge, and my SuperD machine is almost ready. Yeah, I know, I should have finished it last week but with rain, homework and other honey-dos I haven’t had the chance to finish it.

The year in review: 2010

I started 2010 in a sour note, I was still recuperating from shoulder surgery and that meant no bike riding or racing for me. My first ride was back in March, I was really happy to be back on the bike but I was apprehensive about my shoulder.

I made my racing come back at the Fontana City Nationals race, which also happens to be the first race of the Golden State Series. I remember being scared and thought what the hell was I doing racing downhill again. My insecurities showed and I placed 10th out of 11.

Product Feature: G-Form Elbow pads

G-form gave me a set of their new flexible elbow impact pads to test at Interbike. Being an avid mountain biker and SuperD racer, I’m always looking for protective gear that is not too heavy and that is does not get on the way of riding.

I’ve taken these pads on all of my mountain biking rides, here are some of my observations:
